Unit 1 Social Studies Test Review

Vocabulary

Law – a rule everyone must follow
Vote – a choice that gets counted
Community – a place made up of many neighborhoods
History – tells the story of people and places from the past
Urban – an area that has a city
Suburb – a type of community that is located near a city
Rural – area with small communities and open space
Capital – the city where the leaders of a state or country work
Washington D.C. – the capital of our country
Austin – the capital of our state

Our state bird: Mockingbird
Our state flower: Bluebonnet
