Lesson 3 Science Vocabulary

Simple vision – can only detect the difference between light and dark, and
maybe a few shapes.

Complex vision – what humans have

Lens – part of eye that bends light – needed for both simple and complex
vision

Focus – bending light to allow us to see detail, not just shapes

Image – the picture you see in your brain

The lens sends information to the brain (an important part of vision) to
understand what we see

The wax paper represents the lens of a simple eye.
